Minucciano I
This male stele statue, lacking the head, was unearthed along with two others in 1964 during excavation work with mechanical equipment to open the access road to the Sanctuary of Madonna del Soccorso, near Minucciano (Minucciano, LU), in the upper Aulella Valley. It belongs to Group B and can be dated to the Eneolithic period (between 3400/3300 and 2300/2000 BC). The body, roughly trapezoidal in shape, has the upper limbs slightly bent at the elbows, and the hands rendered with parallel lines. On the chest, vertically positioned, there is a depiction of an axe with a long handle and a rectangular blade. A dagger, represented below the hands in a horizontal and low relief position, features a triangular blade with a central rib and reinforcement on the proximal side, and a handle with a semicircular pommel.
It is preserved at the Museum of Pontremoli, where a cast is also located. There is also a cast in the area in front of the Sanctuary of Madonna del Soccorso in Minucciano.
