Castagneta
This is a head of a stele statue. It was purchased from an antique dealer and likely originates from a location in the Taverone Valley, Castagneta (Licciana Nardi, MS), on the right side of the road that leads from Licciana to Comano, near the border between the two municipalities. It belongs to Group B and can be dated to the Eneolithic period (between 3400/3300 and 2300/2000 BCE). The head has a semi-circular shape with lateral expansions, a truncated conical neck, and a concave face in the shape of a “U.” On the lower side, there is a slight curve that may represent the chin or a beard.
It is preserved at the Museum of Pontremoli.
